Belgrade

OverView

Belgrade, the “White City”, proud and audacious is known to be the “Gate of the Balkans” and one of the oldest cities in Europe. Built at the confluence of the Sava and Danube rivers, the city has been an important point for traffic for centuries and an intersection of the roads of Eastern and Western Europe. The city has a rich cultural and historical heritage influenced by the Roman, Byzantine, Ottoman, Serbian and Austrian empires. The socialist blocks of the former communist Yugoslavia are squeezed between art nouveau masterpieces. This gives a very special spirit and energy to the city where it is nice to come to cool off during the weekend and discover its cultural heritage and enjoy its tremendous nightlife.
