Montenegro (literally “black mountain”) is a beautiful country that lies on the shores of the Adriatic Sea. It is located in the west-central Balkans at the southern end of the Dinaric Alps.
It borders Serbia to the northeast, Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina to the southwest and northwest, Kosovo to the east and Albania to the southeast.
Although small in territory, Montenegro is rich in natural beauties and is full of contrasts.
At a distance of only 100 kilometers there are three different natural environments: its spectacular coastline, dotted with peaceful medieval fortified towns, the karstic landscape with its impressive canyons and the region of high mountains covered by dark forests.
The destination has something to offer to everyone! Relax on a beach or enjoy nautical activities, discover its rich culture in the towns of Kotor, Perast, Cetinje or Budva and monasteries like Ostrog or Moraca.
There are thousands of kilometres of hiking and biking trails, fast rivers suitable for rafting and kayaking, great ski paths, but also untouched landscapes and the impressive Skadar Lake which is the home for 280 bird species, including the rare curly pelican.
